Excerpt from “The Nine Secrets of Oistins, Barbados” written by Calum Glenny.
“We have been visiting regularly for breakfast since Hibiscus first opened just over a
year ago. Although small the cafe is adorable and the food is always delicious! There
are several picnic benches outside with umbrellas and 4 or 5 tables inside which is
fully air conditioned. We generally sit inside and amongst many excellent dishes we
have enjoyed the Bajan breakfast, breakfast burrito, omelette, parfait and of course
the smoothies. My favourite is the Bajan Harvest. All are exceptional as is the fresh
coffee. To top it all off the service by Nicole and staff is so pleasant and always with a
smile!
The cafe also houses a little art gallery selling local artist creations. The cafe is
spotlessly clean, tables are expertly hand painted with Hibiscus blooms, and well
priced – you just can’t beat breakfast or lunch at Hibiscus!
Thank you to Nicole, Sadio, Rianna, Kimmy and Marcus for wonderful service and
delicious food! The best brunch cafe by far on the South Coast if not Barbados.
Highly recommend!”
